Ontario is the Place for You | Loft Immigration

Is Ontario an excellent place to call home? Two of Canada’s prominent communities, Toronto, the country’s largest city and Ottawa-the country’s capital, are found in Ontario’s province. It is the most favourable destination for young professionals, investors and most hopeful immigrants too. Each region of Canada has specific criteria with their individual Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) and varies according to its economic needs. For Ontario, it offers the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). There are three main categories where you may qualify for nomination.

  • BUSINESS

  • EMPLOYER JOB OFFER

  • HUMAN CAPITAL

The BUSINESS CATEGORY is perfect for Entrepreneurs. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires a lot of assets and investments for this program type.

Under the EMPLOYER JOB OFFER CATEGORY, an applicant should have a permanent job offer from an Ontario employer. It has three ways for eligibility:

  • Foreign Worker for skilled foreign workers
  • International Student-graduates from a Canadian college or university
  • In-Demand Skills-for employees in agriculture, construction and related fields

For HUMAN CAPITAL CATEGORY, it is sub-divided into two categories with different streams for both sub-categories:

  • ONTARIO EXPRESS ENTRY
    • French-Speaking Skilled Worker-applicants with strong French and English language proficiency
    • Human Capital Priorities-for workers meeting the required work experience, studies and language abilities
    • Skilled Trades-for Ontario residents with eligible job experience
  • GRADUATE STUDIES
  • Masters Graduate
  • PhD Graduate

Based on recent announcements, Ontario launched the EOI (Expression of Interest) system, where they are ranked by points as enumerated in the sequence above EXCEPT FOR BUSINESS CATEGORY. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) influenced this approach and has been effective for most provinces in selecting candidates to meet economic demographics. Factors that will significantly affect points are educational and level background, work and skill background, English and French proficiency, willingness to settle outside Greater Toronto Area and labour market demands in the province or region.

What we have shared needs substantial preparations to make it to Canada through Ontario. Where and how do you start? You must research your options, whole-heartedly equip yourself and make sure that you qualify the mandatory requirements on your preferred stream.
