Through the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand streams, Saskatchewan invited 269 applicants for provincial nomination. The latest draw held last April 22, 2021. Invited candidates have an advantage or are a step ahead to be permanent residents in Canada.
Eligible candidates under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) were significantly from the International Skilled Worker category. Of the 269 applicants, 130 are for Express Entry nominations, and 139 are through the Occupations In-Demand stream. Under both streams, invited candidates require an Expression of Interest score of at least 70. Outstanding education and work qualifications are also factors to qualify for the nomination.
The candidate’s job experience should also meet any of the 61 occupations in-demand list seen on the Saskatchewan government website. Among the eligible occupations are medical laboratory technicians, miners, utility managers, and so on.
Express Entry stream
This subcategory is an enhanced Provincial Nomination Program linked to the Federal Express Entry system of Canada. The pool of candidates come from three main economic-class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
Candidates need to create an EOI profile on the Canadian government website to qualify for an invitation to apply for provincial nomination. Once nominated, an additional 600 points are awarded in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score at the federal level and a guaranteed invitation to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
Occupations In-Demand stream
The Occupations In-Demand subcategory is open to immigration candidates who do not have an existing Express Entry profile. It allows experienced skilled workers with in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan but does not have a job offer in the province yet.
Eligible candidates can apply via this stream by creating an EOI profile through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program online application system. Points influencing the application come from education and work experience, age, language proficiency, and connections in the prairie province.
Suitable applicants receive a score of 100 based on the SINP International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. Best scoring candidates also gain invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
