300 successful candidates for Express Entry are invited by the province of Alberta with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 301. Do you think they are going to battle like the ones in the movie 300? Maybe yes and no. But the finish line will all be in their favour as Canadian permanent residents as long as they submit all the requirements within the given time frame.
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) candidates should have a profile in the Express Entry system in order to be invited. Applications for Express Entry comes from three economic immigration programs namely, Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

The nominees who received a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the government of Alberta additionally gets 600 CRS points summed up with their total score. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have the authority over Express Entry draw, inviting people for permanent residency who meet their cut off score with criteria on age, education, work experience, language skills and so on.
Recently, immigration processes have been a bit strict with their selection. Candidates considered are those who are working and living in Alberta. Their work should also be eligible based on the program’s list of occupations. As of last year, Alberta declared to issue 6250 NOIs but due to the pandemic, issued nominations only reached 4000 by June 2020 and no draws for AINP in the second half of the year. The federal government of Alberta has no announcement yet for their 2021 limit.
